Brand concepts

Three original marks, the palette, and the type system. This page exists so the alternatives can be compared side by side before the identity is fixed. It is linked from the footer but is not part of the customer-facing navigation.

Three marks

All three are original vector artwork, built from the same geometry so they can be swapped without touching the layout.

The Gap Bridge logo concept

1. The Gap Bridge

Selected

A G drawn as an arc that is deliberately left open, with the crossbar doubling as a dimension line measuring the opening. It states the company idea literally: here is the gap, and here is it being measured and spanned. Reads clearly at favicon size.

Intelligent Connection logo concept

2. Intelligent Connection

Three scattered inputs resolving through a single junction into one clean outcome — the integration and automation side of the work. Strong at large sizes; the thin strokes and small nodes lose definition below about 24 pixels.

Forward Momentum logo concept

3. Forward Momentum

Two chevrons separated by a measured interval: distance covered and distance still to go. The most energetic of the three and the most generic — chevrons are common in this category, which makes it the least ownable.

Why concept 1 was chosen

It is the only one of the three whose form carries the company's actual argument rather than a generic sense of progress. It holds up as a 16-pixel favicon, works in one colour, and the open counter gives it a silhouette that is hard to confuse with the many circular tech marks it will sit beside. Concepts 2 and 3 are kept here as alternatives rather than discarded.

Lockups

Horizontal lockup on dark and on light. The icon alone is used wherever the name is already present.

One thing to do before print use. The wordmark in the two lockup files is live SVG text set in Archivo. On the website it renders from the self-hosted font, but in a PDF or a presentation on a machine without Archivo installed it will fall back to a different typeface. Converting the text to outlines in any vector editor fixes it permanently. The icon files have no text and are safe to use anywhere as they are.

Palette

A dark navy canvas with cyan, blue and violet accents. Assessment results use a separate green, amber and red so a score never reads as brand decoration.

On the existing green and gold mark. The two PNG logos already in the project use a green and gold palette. The brief for this site specified a dark navy with cyan, blue and violet, so that is what the identity here uses — but the green and amber were carried across deliberately as the scorecard's pass and partial colours, which keeps a thread back to the existing mark. If you would rather lead with green and gold, every colour above is a CSS custom property in one file and the change is a short job.

Type

Two families, self-hosted. 156 KB in total, with no third-party request on page load.

Archivo

Headlines and the wordmark. An industrial grotesque with roots in signage, which suits an audience that works in trades. Weights 600 and 700 only.

IBM Plex Sans

Body text and interface. Engineered for long technical reading, neutral without being characterless. Weights 400, 500 and 600.

IBM Plex Mono

Reserved for values that were actually measured — scores, counts, header names, URLs. Never used for labels or decoration, which keeps it meaningful wherever it appears.
